Acid Reflux

Acid reflux can be a result of a number of disorders. According to traditional western medicine, this type of symptom is usually the result of either a relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter, or due to the presence of hiatal hernia allowing for acid from the stomach to reflux.

Acid Reflux Symptoms

The symptoms are fairly straight forward, and can include:

  • Dysphagia: impairment of speech.
  • Burning sensation radiating up to the neck.

Temporary relief is available via antacids. According to Oriental Medicine, this complex is caused by one of several factors. For each, traditional herbs have very positive clinical effects when treated properly.

I took celebrex for many years after a knee replacement. Could this have caused acid reflux? Sometimes I get a choking feeling so bad after I've eaten. What is the very best medicataion used for acid reflux? And do you ever get cured from this disease?
